Tranmere story

Liverpool-born midfielder Chris Merrie developed in Everton’s academy before joining Wigan Athletic, where he made his senior debut in the EFL Cup in 2017. He also gained first-team experience on loan with Southport and Altrincham.

Merrie moved from Wigan to Tranmere Rovers in 2021 and remained at Prenton Park for four seasons. After leaving Rovers in 2025, he joined AFC Fylde.
